New decommissioning facility in Great Yarmouth

Peterson and Veolia have announced a £1mn investment in the development of a new, purpose built decommissioning facility in Great Yarmouth to support Southern North Sea (SNS) operators. The bespoke facility located in the western terminal of the recently developed Outer Harbour at Great Yarmouth port, will enable topsides, jackets and subsea equipment to be offloaded for dismantling and recycling, minimising the risk and costs associated with transporting infrastructure from the SNS. According to industry body Decom North Sea costs for decommissioning North Sea offshore assets over the next decade will be around £14.6bn.
