R J Johnsen, An alternative approach, Petroleum Review, July 2014, p 26
In US, Primus Green Energy is developing further the ExxonMobil methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) process to reduce costs and plant requirements by means of a proprietary catalyitic thermo-chemical process which eliminates the need for producing and refining a synthetic crude oil. The plant build cost is about a tenth of that for a conventional Fischer-Tropsch system, and the yield is up to nine times as great. Furthermore, only moderate amounts of make-up water are required.
