'Airfish' swims across the sky, NewScientist, 12 June 2010, p 19
In Switzerland, the Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research has developed an 8 m long electrically-operated silent Airfish blimp that swims through the air by flexing its body under the action of computer-controlled 'muscle' leads that contract under voltage. Forward travel is achieved at about half-a-metre a second. It may appear attractive to TV companies for aerial footage of outdoor events.
