Make a program to aid gas turbine selection. G.K. Roy. Hydrocarbon Processing, July 1998, 77(7), 59--66.

Options for selecting gas turbines are based on power, steam, heat, electrical, and other requirements. They are also influenced by the availability of off-site facilities. A simple PC-program is recommended and input data are described which automatically calculates the net plant electrical and gross plant overall efficiencies. It also shows whether supplementary firing is needed in the heat recovery boiler or if an additional conventional boiler is required. Four operational examples are discussed. Other components such as process chilling requirements, steam injection for power augmentation, and NOx reduction can be integrated into the system.
