Consideration is given to the use of staging seismic surveys over time to monitor a producing reservoir---hence, establishing fluid positions today versus yesterday, and the more accurate prediction of fluid movement. Details of the petrophysical basis are discussed, marine 3-D seismic data acquisition techniques are described, and relative cost comparisons are examined.
