Plasma reforming of methane. L. Bromberg et al. Energy and Fuels, January/February 1998, 12(1), 11--18.

Experiments on the production of hydrogen or hydrogen-rich gases by plasma reforming of methane are described. Both methane pyrolysis without oxygen and partial oxidation with air and steam were investigated. Both homogenoeus and heterogeneous methods were studied. Results indicated that energy consumption may be sufficiently low for the process to be economically viable for hydrogen fuel production. 10 refs.
