Development of X80 UOE linepipe for sour service. Y. Terado et al. Paper. Proc. Conf., Pipeline technology, Vol. 2, pages 421--434. (See abstract 909 for complete reference).

The aim of the study reported was to develop API grade X80 UOE linepipe for sour service with low carbon and manganese contents. Consideration being given to the effects of chromium content and thermomechanical control process conditions on the mechanical properties. The addition of chromium was studied which segregates less at the centre segregated zone than manganese. Also to refine the microstructure of the plate, the effect of reduction per pass in the unrecrystallized region of austenite on the mechanical properties was examined. Then X80 UOE linepipe for sour service was manufactured on a large scale and the properties were evaluated. 5 refs.
