By the end of 1996, the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries held 466 billion brl of crude oil reserves and 22 545 billion m3 of natural gas, representing respectively, about 45% and 15% of the world's proven reserves. The GCC comprises Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qater and Oman. Details are given of GCC refining capacity, processing capability. Individual details for each state are also presented.
