The European Commission (EC) has announced its intention to ‘stop the clock’ on the enforcement of aviation emissions under the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) until next autumn, on the expectation that, by then, next year’s ICAO General Assembly will have made sufficient progress on a global market based measure for aviation emissions.
