Each of the North West Shelf Venture participants has signed an amended conditional gas sales and purchase agreement with Methanex Australia. Under the amended terms, the six NWS partners will supply gas to Methanex at a base rate of 100 Tj/d for 20 years to meet the requirements of its proposed methanol production facility on Western Australia’s Burrup Peninsula. The Methanex project was originally based on 200 Tj/d over 25 years.
