An MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering is now available from The Robert Gordon University (RGU) via open distance learning. Based on the course delivered on campus at RGU, the online version has been designed for graduate engineers who are unable to attend university in person but wish quick and flexible access to learning regardless of whether they work on a rotational basis, in an office, in the UK or abroad. The course is also suitable for professional engineers in the industry who wish to improve their qualifications. The course is modular, with each student undertaking five compulsory modules in subsea technology, well engineering fundamentals, petroleum technology, and two in project and operations management. Students are then able to choose from three specialist modules, including offshore engineering, materials engineering or drilling engineering. Two further options (asset management and environmental engineering) are planned for the near future. The final part of the MSc is an industrially linked research project and thesis. Each module will take three months to complete, with students able to take three modules per year.
