World's first personal carbon credit earns $17 cashback for one tonne of carbon dioxide

The My Emissions Exchange website certifies emissions savings made by home owners and then sells emission credits to companies voluntarily looking to increase their green credentials. The company says it has signed up 1,800 households since going into business in autumn 2009. Households who successfully reduce their emissions gain twice, in (small) carbon credit payments and also in lower energy bills.
