Chinguetti discovery for Woodside in Mauritania
Woodside Mauritania reported that a preliminary evaluation of the wireline log data on its Chinguetti 4-2 well on its Area B Mauritanian acreage had found a 94 m hydrocarbon interval. The well was drilled to a depth of depth of 2,655 m. The company said a shallower zone contained gas-bearing sandstones over a 3 m interval. Following the completion of a logging programme Woodside now plans to run a production test of the primary objective interval. Participants in the Area B venture are Woodside Mauritania as operator with 35%; Agip with 35%; Hardman Resources with 21.6%, Fusion Oil and Gas with 6% and Roc Oil with the remaining 2.4%.
