T Dubois, Europe focuses on aircraft powered by hydrogen, Aviation Week & Space Technology, 29 June-12 July 2020, p 19

In France, fuel specialists consider that, despite the suggestion to increase the operating pressure of gaseous hydrogen tanks to over the automative level of 700 bar, this would apply only to small-sized aircraft otherwise the tank weight would be excessive, hence liquid hydrogen would be preferable, together with a fuel cell of efficiency 55-60% compared with gas turbine of 40-45%. Water vapour emitted by the former is cooler and fully conditional within the aircraft, hence fuel cell propulsion could reduce climate impute by 75 -90% as against 50-75% with combustion engines.
