N Cranenburgh, Hydrogen exports move a step closer as construction starts on Victorian plant, Create, 20 August, 2019

In Australia, a new hydrogen liquefaction plant is to be built in Victoria’s western Port Bay at Loy Young A by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and AGL to generate up to 3 tonnes of hydrogen from 160 tonnes of brown coal using oxygen and steam, and ship them to Japan between 2020 and 2021.  Kawasaki is also to receive one full liquid green hydrogen carrier per week from Nel Hydrogen in Norway, derived from electrolysed water using renewable energy.
