Upgrading our energy system: smart systems and flexibility plan
A plan to give homes and businesses more control over their energy use and support innovative new technologies, as part of the Industrial Strategy, was set out by Business and Energy Secretary Greg Clark today (24 July 2017).
- remove barriers to smart technologies (such as storage and demand-side response)
- enable smart homes and businesses
- improve access to energy markets for new technologies and business models
- These actions are designed to reduce the costs of the energy system, and help keep energy bills low for consumers.
