The plant is scheduled to be the largest facility of its kind in the Middle East when completed in early 2017. It will be powered by over 2.3mn First Solar modules, compared to the 152,880 that were installed in the plant’s first phase. The whole plant will eventually cover an area of 4.5mn square meters (equivalent to 100 football pitches).
