Cheshire estate turns to renewables

Bolesworth Estate turned to TGE Group for advice on the latest technologies to power and heat a selection of its properties, including a local police station, dairy farm, church and offices in Cheshire. The company designed and installed three biomass district heating systems, replacing oil boilers, along with a solar PV system to generate electricity.

The new renewable systems offer low cost, sustainable heat and power, whilst also reducing carbon emissions and providing a 20-year revenue stream from the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive and Feed-in-Tariff incentive schemes.

The biomass boilers are designed to offer 93% efficiency, generating heat at 20% less than the cost of oil and offering an average 20% return on investment. The solar PV system selected will pay back its investment in seven years, says TGE.
