Petroleum Review December 2011
In this month’s issue of Petroleum Review we look at E&P developments down under, in our annual review of Australia and New Zealand’s oil and gas industry. Drilling in Australia has now pushed to the very margins of the continent, whilst the LNG boom continues, with a number of new developments underway. Meanwhile, in New Zealand, international companies are exploring for conventional and non-conventional petroleum resources, with the industry confident that a significant offshore discovery will be made outside of the Taranaki Basin.
This issue also looks at developments in digital oil fields – which are moving beyond point solutions towards a more integrated operations approach. The main challenge for operators will be a cultural change rather than technology, however. Meanwhile, our shipping review asks how many companies will be able to ride out the market’s troughs as the downturn in the industry continues.
