Energy World November 2012
This issue is themed around two subject areas, starting with a series of articles on developments in power distribution, managements and use from page 14 onwards. We look at local 'virtual' power stations based on CHP schemes; technology to store energy at strategic points in electricity grids; the evolution of communications for smart grid operation; and electricity demand response programmes.
The second theme is energy used in transport. We look at options available to begin to reduce the energy used by, and emissions from, aviation; charging technologies for electric vehicles, be they privately-owned of part of a business fleet; and gas-fuelled transportation.
