Petroleum Review February 2013
This month’s issue of Petroleum Review assesses how structural changes within the oil and gas industry are impacting current and future investment in the sector, leading to more creative financing techniques and new sources of funding. We also analyse what the recent re-election of US President Barack Obama in late 2012 will mean for the nation’s energy policy going forwards.
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is increasingly on the oil and gas agenda in the bid to combat greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. We take a look at the current state of play globally, in North America and Canada, and in the UK, outlining both the opportunities and the challenges that remain to be overcome.
The magazine also explains how pipeline operators can look to reduce risk in the oil and gas sector, and outlines how Russia is setting its sights on Siberian gas to meet fast-growing demand from the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition, this month’s issue presents an overview of the Energy Institute’s Technical Programme, outlining some of the new incentives planned in 2013, both in terms of work areas and developing knowledge provision.
