Energy World November 2013
Electricity transmission and distribution is the first main theme of this issue and the opening article takes a look at demand-side response initiatives – in which consumers reduce loads at times of network stress – are already taking a role in keeping the lights on. We also cover how smart meters are starting to affect consumer behaviour, and a newly-set target for electricity storage capacity.
The second theme is energy used in transport – articles look at the disappointing early take-up figures for electric vehicles and some of the technologies being developed now to improve them.
