Shell sells selected company-owned assets to independents

Shell UK has concluded the sale of 185 company-owned service stations to selected independent dealers in the UK, including Motor Fuel Group (MFG) which has acquired 90 sites and Euro Garages, which has taken 68. Dealers will continue to sell Shell fuels for at least the first five years following the sale. The sale of the 185 Shell outlets marks the end of a commercial process that began in September 2014, following the strategic decision to reduce the number of Shell company-owned service stations to around 550 and expand the dealer network. The acquisition brings the total number of filling stations that will be owned by MFG to 373, making it one of the largest independent fuel station operators in the UK.
