Capacity expansion at Friendship I/ Adria oil pipelines

MOL Group and Transpetrol have finished the reconstruction and capacity expansion of the Friendship I oil pipeline in Slovakia. As a result, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic will now be able to further diversify their energy supplies thus significantly improving regional energy security. Pipeline capacity has been increased from 3.5mn t/y to 6mn t/y at a total cost of $80mn. MOL Group also increased the capacity of the Hungarian section of the Adria oil pipeline, connecting the Adriatic Sea with Slovakia from the present 10mn t/y to 14mn t/y, to enable the company to meet the oil needs of its Bratislava refinery from the Adriatic.
