Petronas secures green light for British Columbia LNG export terminal

British Columbia’s Ministry of Environment has given approval to an LNG export terminal being developed by Malaysia’s Petronas, along with two pipelines to service Canada’s fledgling LNG industry. A federal environmental review of Petronas’ Pacific NorthWest LNG project is underway. Petronas was due to make a final investment decision on the $11bn facility in December. However, it has announced it is going to defer making that decision in light of the current low oil prices.
