UK’s first LNG bunkering facility

The UK’s first LNG bunkering facility seems likely to be based in Portsmouth, following the award of a contract to Lloyd’s Register to identify and develop specifications and operating procedures. According to Leonidas Karistios, Global Gas Technology Manager at Lloyd’s Register: ‘Obviously with growing demand for LNG, ports are looking to understand how they can develop the capability to deliver LNG bunkering services safely. Portsmouth is looking to ensure that they have the right, safe approach to support operational and commercial ambitions.’
