First gas from Juliet field in the North Sea

GDF SUEZ has announced first gas from the Juliet field, a subsea development on the western flank of the southern gas basin. Initial gas has been produced from the West well, the first of two wells to be drilled. The second well (Juliet East) is expected to come onstream in 1Q2014. At plateau, the wells will produce approximately 80mn cf/d of gas (800mn cm/y).

Produced gas is being transported by a 22-km pipeline to the Pickerill A platform and then transported onshore via the existing export pipeline to the Theddlethorpe gas terminal.

Located in block 47/14b, Juliet’s gross associated reserves are put at 11.6mn boe. GDF Suez holds a 51.56% stake in the field and is operator, partnered by First Oil Expro (29.44%) and Hansa Hydrocarbons (19%).
