Vestas wind turbines
Vestas wind turbines will now receive first and service oil fills for gear lubrication from Castrol under a three-year deal that applies to all Vestas built and serviced wind turbines – around 57 GW worth.
The Optigear Synthetic CT gear oil has been approved for global use, and Castrol estimates that it will deliver around 1.5mn tonnes of oil a year under the deal. The lubricating oil is designed to perform in a wide range of temperatures with a good thermal stability, says Castrol.
