D Thisdell, Waste-to-fuel start-up seeks airline partners, Flight International, 14-27 August 2012, p 19
In US, Kiverdi in California is researching a 'carbon engineering' GTL technology for transforming waste carbon from forests, farming , food production and flue gases into jet fuel by means of high-yield microbes. This process is claimed to be more economical than biological methane-dependent feedstocks such as sugar. Annual million tons generation in US of landfill, agricultural wastes and forest wastes are estimated as 130, 170 and 60 respectively.
