In UK, ABB has installed its first Terra 51 DC charger in a printing company in Nottinghamshire, with the aim of reducing the charging time from 8 hours to less than 30 minutes. In view of the charging rate of 50 kW, in contrast to conventional slow charging at 3 kW, specialised software is used to enable the charger to talk continuously to the car's battery management systems.
