Hope, C. BNFL plans to sell UK nuclear safety unit. Daily Telegraph, 30/09/2005
British Nuclear Fuels Limited will sell the business that maintains the safety of the country's ageing fleet of nuclear power stations so once the sale of the company's US contracting business Westinghouse is complete next year, BNFL could cease to exist.
It comes at a sensitive time politically since the Government claimed to be prepared to build more nuclear power stations
The decision to sell the UK business, called British Nuclear Group and which employs 15,000 people, was taken at a meeting yesterday.
