In 2006, UKPIA published its report Meeting our energy needs: the future of UK oil refining, which set out some of the challenges facing the sector in the coming years. The report prompted the UK DTI, now BERR, to commission a study from Wood Mackenzie reviewing UK oil refining capacity. Here, UKPIA's Nick Vandervell highlights the main findings of the studies.
