The increasing accuracy of weather forecasting, and the addition of specialised services, has led to it playing an ever more important role in the offshore oil and gas industry. Even more so, thanks to greater awareness that advanced knowledge of wind and wave conditions leads to safer, more efficient offshore operations, and, potentially, enormous cost savings.
