Application of transient-multiphase-flow technology. D.D. Erickson and M.C. Mai. JPT, April 1999, 15(4), 84--87.

Recent use of this technology in online monitoring and control systems is enabling operators to push existing systems further, thereby achieving additional profits and/or cost savings. Brief descriptions are provided of the techniques used based on experience with more than 200 individual studies of multiphase pipelines and related facilities worldwide. These applications include conventional offshore, deepwater, arctic, and desert production and transportation systems. 7 refs.
