Whole-of-life approach to oilfield economics helps technology decisions. R. Uden and R. Anderson. OGJ, 31 May 1999, 97(22), 44--48.

Consideration is given as to how after a period of low oil prices, such as the one from which the oil/gas industry seems to be emerging, it is a good time to re-examine the technical premises that the field has been built upon. Attention is drawn to the economic impact of EOR processes, and the methodology is illustrated by a single reservoir, Eugene Island in the Gulf of Mexico. Fluid-production modelling, the impact of EOR on reservoir performance, and the overall economic effects are discussed. 2 refs.
