Petroleum markets' turmoil spawns tanker glut. W.R. True. OGJ, 22 February 1999, 97(8), 58--60, 62, 63.
The vicious economics at work in crude-oil markets in 1998 and early 1999 are likely to be reflected in petroleum tanker markets by mid 1999 or early 2000. Tanker demand is discussed, crude-oil imports, and the general outlook for VLCCs is considered. Products-tanker activity, products-tanker market, and product-tanker status are examined. Seaborne gas transportation, LPG demand and pricing, LNG trade and projects, and the LNG fleet are considered.
