Qatar Gas LNG is the first LNG project in the gas-development programme of the world's largest gas reservoir, the North field. Details are given of the LNG plant together with schematic illustrations. Alternative mercaptan-removal safety consideration which necessitated a layout modification, training and data management are discussed. The start-up operator, performance test and plant availability are also examined.
