The operator Chevron Nigeria Ltd expects the Escravos project to enable the joint venture (Chevron Nigeria Ltd and Nigerian National Petroleum Corp) to utilise a signification portion of the gas reserves, thus reducing gas flaring. The project roots are outlined and details are given of the Okan and Mefa fields. Process design and construction start-up are described.
