Implications of engine deterioration for fuel usage. M. Naeem, R. Singh and D. Probert. Appl. Energy, February-March 1998, 59(2/3), 125--146.

The use is reported of a computer program to explore the relative implications of an aero-engine's deterioration especially with respect to increased fuel used, which is highly dependent on the aircraft's flight path. It is postulated that greater benefit will be achieved if the present analysis is considered as an integral part of a more comprehensive analysis including life usage and mission operational effectiveness. 12 refs.
