Details are given of how exploration and production companies, as clients, benefit from having a process in place to verify that geophysical operations performed by contractors are conducted properly. Several key activities are described which are performed by Exxon Exploration Co. that have been effective in reducing HSE incidents during geophysical operations. The activities are checklist items found in one of the management systems that form Exxon Exploration's project management process. These activities apply to all geophysical operations worldwide, land or marine.
