Tests of catalytic-combustion technology show low emissions. J.C. Solt and J.C. Schlatter. OGJ, 6 April 1998, 96(14), 76--80.
Because gas turbines are used to drive compressors, NOx regulations will also effect pipeline operators. Details are given of two federal programmes currently under development that will significantly impact both existing and new gas turbine pipeline compressor stations. Nox control technologies, catalytic combustion and full-scale testing are discussed, and three successful tests conducted on the Xonon combustion system are described briefly. 2 refs.
