Special features of technology for the construction of the gas cavern storage Stassfurt. (In German). M. Klafki and P.-J. Below. Erdol Erdgas Kohle, November 1996, 112(11), 443--447.

The construction of this gas storage facility will be in separate steps. In phase one, already leached salt cavity in a depth of 430--560m is converted to gas storage operation. The new leaching deep caverns are to be built in depth range of 900--1200m. Details are given of the geological investigations, pneumatic fracturing tests, and geomechanical parameters. The leaching technology using a gaseous blanket and the applied leaching equipment corresponds with requirements of high technical standards.
