Nash reservoir management study with stochastic images---a case study. J.R. Fanchi et al. SPE Formation Evaluation, September 1996, 11(3), 155--161.
Details are reported of a multidisciplinary reservoir study of the north east Nash field in the Anadarko basin. The objectives of which are to acquire a better understanding of reservoir performance, particularly those factors contributing to each water breakthrough, and to develop a strategy to optimize oil recovery. Fluid flow simulations were undertaken and compared for deterministic and stochastic geological models. Tracer-flow performance and history-matching water breakthrough were found to be more valuable than geostatistical modelling for the identification of flow compartments and channel areas. 6 refs.
