Carbon dioxide production form co-generation for enhanced oil recovery---an economic evaluation. P. Tontiwachwuthikul, W. Kritpiphat and D. Gelowitz. J. Can. Petrol. Technol., June 1996, 35(6), 27--33.

Advantages of placing a cogeneration/CO2 recovery plant in the location of EOR fields in western Canada are discussed. Captured CO2 from fossil fuel fired power plants can be used as a flooding agent to generate revenue from incremental oil production, and reduce atmospheric emission of CO2 to alleviate global warming problems. Amine absorption, adsorption, cold distillation, and membrane separation processes for CO2 recovery are discussed. A CO2 recovery facility for field use in an EOR project is described and illustrated. Data on design output specifications and the economics of cogeneration processes for CO2 production are tabulated. Significant economic benefits are described. 10 refs.
