Materials selection for produced water injection piping. R.J. Franco. Mater. Perform., January 1995, 34(1), 47--50.
Consideration is given, on the basis of operating experience, to the most promising materials of construction for an onshore produced water injection linepipe system. They comprise fibreglass and high-density polyethylene liner, followed by cement linings (which may require routine repairs). Results with internally coated steel have been mixed. Bare steel is susceptible to rapid corrosion failure. The years in service and the expected life of several alternatives are described. 12 refs.
