Computer-based instruments improve gas flow management. Anon. Pipeline Gas J., December 1994, 221(12), 53--54.

A new series of flexible and user-friendly electronic instruments is described for gas flow data management. They include a flow computer, flow corrector, gas orifice flow computer, pulse accumulator/transmitter, and pressure and temperature recorders. Communications capabilities and user-friendliness features in the new instrumentation design are discussed. Data presentation is described and software design provides communication with remote field locations to access information on operational details and safety aspects. Personnel are alerted about alarm conditions and trends in gas utilization. The software also automates other tasks related to the management of gas flow.
