Quality control of jet fuels---PLS regression analysis of gas chromatographic and i.r. spectroscopic data. (In German). K. Seinsche, F. Luigart and P. Bartl. Erdol Erdgas Kohle, June 1996, 112(6), 261--263.

Details are presented of multivariate regression analysis of gas chromatographic and i.r. spectroscopic data to predict important properties of aviation turbine fuels (kerosene type). In the two-step approach described a calibration model is established by correlating analysis data of a representative set of samples with their experimentally determined properties and then applied to unknowns. It is shown that this enables the flash point, freezing point, density, viscosity, aniline point and aromatics to be predicted at adequate confidence levels, involving a minimum of manual work and time. 23 refs.
