Case studies utilizing mobile on-site recycling of industrial oils for immediate reapplication. R. Siegel and C. Skidd. Lubric. Engng., September 1995, 51(9), 767--770.

The increasing need for on-site mobile oil recycling technology is reviewed and a typical recycling system is described and illustrated. This processes dirty or wet oils from customer storage vessels. Prefiltration of the oil removes large particles and heat is applied to start the removal of emulsified water. Oil recycling includes the use of coalescers, centrifuges, film evaporators, vacuum distillation, and absorbents. Final particle removal uses bag, cartridge or dense media filtration techniques. Mixed oils or additive depleted oils can also be recycled. Three case studies describe the recycling of used turbine and hydraulic oils.
