Attention is drawn to how technological advances have levelled the playing field in the electricity industry, bringing clean, efficient electricity production within the reach of not only gas, but oil, coal, and nuclear energy sources while at the same time cutting costs and making even small companies profitable. The need is stressed for the correct corporate culture to create value by integrating knowledge, thus setting aside the cost-cutting culture of the 1980s and early 1990s as companies focus on obtaining the maximum value from their human resources.
