Mooring line termination technology. H.A. McKenna. Sea Technol., July 1996, 37(7), 15--18.

Consideration is given to chain, wire rope, synthetic fibre rope technology in large spread, taut mooring systems for floating offshore platforms. The current state of technology for terminations and other connecting hardware is reviewed. Breaking loads in the order of 500 to 1500 tonnes are those considered.
